Brighter than before is a feel-good story about a second chance in life. It was a surprising book because, honestly, when I learned the FMC was a divorcée in her mid-forties, I thought I wasn’t going to connect with the story at all. But I was wrong.
Claire is such a lovely character; it broke my heart when she was struggling, and I loved her new approach to life and how brave she was. I loved her relationship with her daughter and how supportive they were of each other. And of course, I loved Miles. He was amazing, and I truly enjoyed their chemistry and banter.
Reading this book felt like watching one of those classic rom-coms that I grew up loving. It is a comforting read that lifts your spirits and makes you believe in love again.
I was particularly fond of the baking side of the story, and I was legit excited for Claire and her dreams. I also wished I could try her baked goods or at least get the recipes to try them myself.
Overall, I deeply enjoyed it. It was sweet and heartwarming and exactly what I needed to read.
