More Than Words - Jill Santopolo

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

More than Words is a story about love, a story about a woman and his father and a life she is not sure she can consider her own
When I read the first book by Jill I was broken-hearted, so I was a Little bit afraid of reading More than Words. When I started it, I knew which the part that could break my heart was. And it did, a little. I was not easy to read but with Jill’s beautiful writing, it is hard not to continue the story. Her words are captivating and the way she captures the feelings and thoughts of her characters is amazing.
I really liked Nina, she was a very complex character but it was easy to understand her, to empathize with her and to get absorbed into her story. As I grow older, I try to find stories of main characters that are around my age and in their stories, I find a reflection of some of my thoughts, feelings, and worries. It was nice to read this book and I deeply enjoyed the romantic part because it was not too sweet nor too soft. I cannot say that I disliked Tim, but I did not love him. Rafael, though, well…he was a great character, complex and different. And I loved that he is Latino and that there were some phrases in Spanish. Overall, I liked the book a lot and I recommend it to anyone in the mood for reading about a woman trying to find herself and trying to find love at the same time.
Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for the DRC.
