Always and Forever, Lara Jean - Jenny Han

Lara Jean is having the best senior year.

And there’s still so much to look forward to: a class trip to New York City, prom with her boyfriend Peter, Beach Week after graduation, and her dad’s wedding to Ms. Rothschild. Then she’ll be off to college with Peter, at a school close enough for her to come home and bake chocolate chip cookies on the weekends.

Life couldn’t be more perfect!

At least, that’s what Lara Jean thinks . . . until she gets some unexpected news.

Now the girl who dreads change must rethink all her plans—but when your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

In the beginning, this series was just another YA story, and even though I wanted to read it, I did not understand what the big fuss was about.
It turns out I was wrong and maybe delusional by thinking I would not like it. Now I have finished the third and last installment and I honestly do not know what to do with myself.
I have read the three books in over a year, I purposefully spaced them out because I knew there will be no more Lara Jean but now that it actually happened, I do not know how to feel about the story being over.
I have been having trouble finding books that interest me. YA books used to be my go-to read,
but let us be honest I am not that young anymore (not that old either! Thank you very much) and sometimes it is hard to relate to the characters. I did not completely relate to the story and characters here, at least not in the way I could with a story about a character closer to my age or who is going through similar things, but the story is so sweet, warm and full of beautiful things that it is nearly impossible not to fall in love with it.
Moreover, if you think about it, you CAN relate to Lara Jean’s feelings, you can go back to that moment when you were a teenager, your stomach was full of butterflies, and you were full of dreams. And it is nice to be back, especially by the hand of Jenny Han and her lovely characters and beautiAlways and Forever, Lara Jean (To All the Boys I've Loved Before, #3)ful writing.
Another thing that I loved was, well…Peter. Oh, Peter, how sweet you are! I cannot believe I hesitated for a minute back there when I was reading the second book if I truly was Team Peter all the way. Well, we have moments of weakness and that was mine. John Ambrose McClaren is perfection, too, though, but Peter is just… Peter.
It was a story full of changes and full of growth and dreams. A story about family, life, and love that everybody can certainly enjoy. In my case, finishing the book feels like saying goodbye to a good friend, one that in a short time has become one of the best and that you will undoubtedly never forget.
